I thought it was time for another update about the planned release of 1.1.0. We are still in hold because of the valgrind warnings about severe memory management issues (invalid read, etc.). This morning I confirmed those issues exist even for the old 1.0.5p1 autotools version of libLASi. The common denominator seems to be a build with a modern version of libpango (e.g., Ubuntu Dapper in my case). There are no such valgrind issues when you link libLASi against older versions of libpango (e.g., the Debian stable version). I have just asked for some help about this issue on the gtk-i18n-list mailing list where libpango issues are discussed (see my post at http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gtk-i18n-list/2007-March/msg00012.html). I have no idea whether I will get a helpful reply or not, but it is certainly worth asking since we haven't yet been able to solve this issue on our own, and the experts there may know of a simple "well-known" solution.
