Bugs item #940260, was opened at 2004-04-22 19:31 Message generated for change (Settings changed) made by bouvigne You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100290&aid=940260&group_id=290 Category: Frontends (lame/mp3x/...) Group: Compatibility >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: lame.dll produces wrong headers with vbr Initial Comment: Use Exact Audio Copy (0.95 prebeta3) with lame.dll (Version 3.96) and settings "minimum bitrate 56kBit/s VBR, 44100Hz Stereo", "max. VBR bitrate 320 kBit/s" and "VBR quality 5 (normal)". The produced mp3s show wrong track lengths and avarage bitrates in iTunes and WinAmp5. This might be due to wrong vbr-header information. When encoding the same tracks with lame.exe this problem does not occur! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Gabriel Bouvigne (bouvigne) Date: 2004-04-24 11:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1056 The calling application must call the proper function to fill the VBR tag AFTER encoding. The command line Lame executable is properly calling it. If an application using DLL or static library produces files without or with bad vbr headers, it is because this application did not called the vbr tag flush function. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kimmo Teräväinen (teardroppixie) Date: 2004-04-23 15:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=870919 This bug seems to be in linux version of libmp3lame.so too... When using for example audiocd kio-slave with konqueror the VBR-encoded MP3-files has no Xing-tag. However the lame command itself works as expected. I was previously reported this bug as a KDE bug (79235), but it seems to be bug of liblame after all. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100290&aid=940260&group_id=290 |
