Category: Unknown Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Current version not so good at 17 kps voice Initial Comment: With 3.97 and first beta of 3.98--starting with lame 3.93 or 3.97 I can't recall--I found I could use some experimental settings to create fairly artifact free voice files at typical vbr of 17 kps. But no more. They sound like shit if not over 30 kps. with any setting. Why isn't there quality settings for voice and separate optimized ones for music. Just changing to ath type 5 helped greatly, but now that is turned off. Seriously, people, grow up, if you need your books and podcast to sound like person is in same room, you got issues. AM 17 kps quality if fine. That quality did no mental damage to people that listened to this quality since invention of the Victrola and early radio. I listen to talk going to sleep for 1 to 3 hours, cleaning for 2 to 6 hours daily, in car, while doing repetive tasks, and for educational purposes. 80 hours can zip by like a click. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100290&aid=2503133&group_id=290 |
