Most people just want to simulate flight within our LAC online community. Those people must install LAC on their computer, which simulates flight visually and which, as a "client" of the LAC server, learns about the positions and activities of other online players. People that just want to fly within the LAC community do not need this LAC server, because the people at AskMisterWizard.com have long supported free access to the server at LinuxAirCombat.com.
However, if you would like to cultivate your own, independent community of LAC flyers, you can use the source code published in this project to compile your own copy of the LAC server. If you host the resulting software on an Internet-accessible server, you can advertise its availability to attract new LAC players to your new online combat flight simulator community!
By default, LAC users are preconfigured to access the standard LAC Server at "LacServer2.LinuxAirCombat.com". Users wishing to access some other LAC Server will need to make corresponding entries in their ~/home/.LAC/LacConfig.txt file, according to the comprehensive help/tutorial text it contains.
This forum is for discussion of related news, problems, and solutions.
