Hi List,
first of all: I love this project!
I've spent hours, days and weeks, figuring out how to ship around some
things in openl2tp unless a helpful individual suggested to try out
l2tpns... not more than 4 hours later I had a completely new LNS setup
for terminating DSL connections with working multilink for two of our
carriers (thanks to Mouhammad Tayseer Alquoatli for his work on the
multilink patch!)
I did some amateur work to make the telnet binding (address and port)
configurable to be able to deploy more than one instance per physical
machine, because we are going to use a quadcore sun and didn't want to
waste it's power. Clustering will be something I have to look at the
next days.
But for now I've got a serious question which is critical for our
project's success:
One essential goal of the project is to be able to forward/switch L2TP
tunnels for (sub-)realms. Currently this is being handled by two cisco
routers, but we want to get rid of them and terminate/forward/switch on
the told linux system.
1) What do you guys suggest to do? I'm aware of MPD for freebsd, but is
there any linux project that we can try?
2) Do you think it would be possible to create a l2tpns plugin to do the
forwarding stuff by providing the needed data via radius attributes?
Or maybe there already IS a plugin to do this I didn't find?
Well, looking forward to your replies and thanks in advance!
Best regards,
John
