L_Pa Project - MISSION STATEMENT

  • To bring stability, reliability, more integration and performance improvements with windows VSTs/ASIO applications/plugins running in Gnu/Linux and Wine in a jackified environment.

  • to improve on existing RT kernels; to leverage better performance with our applications in our
Proaudio environment. As well as providing useful patches for certain types of users/applications

  • Share, document and implement improvements in L_pa

  • Work with and/or connect software developers, where applicable. ie: help with networking between
projects (where it might be useful)

  • Work towards having useful patchwork moved into upstream projects.

the idea of L_pa is to put this stuff in one locaton; distro-agnostic and to avoid some fragmentation; ie: have ALL good contributions come back to the project so that XZY distro and end-users can benefit equally. It will also lead to more eyes, focusing on the same (potential) issues and improvements.

What L_pa goals are NOT:

  • to create a linux distribution
  • to compete (or even be) a meta-disto like Ubuntu Studio, KxStudio, etc
  • forking Wine or the linux kernel (we just want to rebase patches on every release).
    ..........

WHAT L_Pa Project needs: People with expertise, hackers, dogfooders/testers, contributors, etc

  • I'm only one person with limited time and experience and expertise (although for my own systems, i do quite well) and thus need help...

  • Special thanks to Pawel/FSThost-dev, Muse Research-devs, Wine-devs, FalkTX, Bruno, AutoStatic, Till, JackWinter ... and anyone that i have have missed...)
