Google Earth 7.1.2 has been uploaded to the Kwheezy repository. Please test it and report your findings here. I will announce on the website once I'm confident it's stable. It works on my nvidia proprietary, nouveau and intel (3 PCs) wihtout any issue so far.
This is a big improvement over version 6.x since it uses Qt4 and therefore looks nice and more things work.
The package is a bit harder to update than usual because it was installed originally by hand. Therefore updated version in repository will not automatically update.
INSTRUCTIONS:
From Apper (GUI): Refresh indexes (update), then Remove 'googleearth' and then Install 'googleearth'.
From terminal (as root or administrator):
#sudo apt-get update
#sudo apt-get install googleearth

Installed through Synaptic, works very well. Thanks Euan :)
