First, this distro worked great on the older Dell laptops. I had to install 2 users.
I liked the setup and look of the desktop, nice. Looks polished.
I tried logout to switch users, end up with a mouse pointer and black screen. The menu's switch user does let me get to the 2nd user, but again logging out to go back to user 1 ends up at the black screen with a mouse pointer.
Of course the (ctl-alt) + F7 and F8 buttons do switch between user desk tops, just can't log out.
After the screen is black a simple (ctrl-alt-F2) console will let me reboot or shutdown.
So no show stopper, just a little minor annoyance. If I can fix, it is perfect.
Thanks again this does not wreck the KWheezy but is a bit strange. Typical one user logged in will not see a problem. ( pentium M, Dell Lattitude c640 )

I will test it myself when I get time. Got a lot of important windows ope at the moment. I have used switch users on this, my main machine without any problems. I don't remember logging out or shutting down while using switch users. I initiated the switch user from my first login (myself). I used the "Switch User" in the "Leave" menu. I think it went to the KDM login screen and my girlfriend logged in. Switching back and forth was quite easy and flawless.
I will try it out more thoroughly next time. I suspect it doesn't like your graphics card, what is it (brand/model)?

I did get it going once, and wonder if having the main user auto login to KDE, was the cause. I turned it off and was able to properly logoff and get the KDM login screen. Will give it a try again to see if that was the cause.

It still had the problem. I'll use the function keys to switch users, it works. I'm still happy with the overall package. The Dell C640 is pretty resource limited and it does a good job.

Aha. yes the auto-login would probably cause problems with switch user feature. It would make sense anyway.

OK, I haven't had time yet to test it myself. Graphics driver issues could be your problem.
That model is from like 2002? In which case, it's amazing it runs Kwheezy with respectable performance!
Are you running 32bit or 64bit? I'm guessing it doesn't support 64bit. But have you tried using the 686-pae kernel?
32 bit and with Pentium M, have to use non pae.
Still the little laptop does very well with this more fully loaded KDE package.
