It appears that Firefox 33.0 onwards has been crashing frequently and with increasing frequency with each subsequent upgrade. It will sometimes crash either KDE or the Xserver
The problem goes away when Firefox 32.0.1 is installed. The funny thing after installing 32.0.1 is that it brought up a browsing history that was months old (from the time of the previous install of 32.0.1
Also, since the later firefoxes had a problem in saving and restoring sessions, it may be that Firefox 33 onward is storing the history differently.
I am not certain as to how to proceed with this. I wonder if anybody else is having similar issues. My hardware is an "old" Compaq CQ50
