#91 Cannot boot/install vista into KVM guest
I cannot install 64bit vista into KVM guest.
The installtion failed with blue screen.
Reproduce steps:
use qemu-system-x86_64 to install 64bit vista image.
Following is the cmd:
qemu-system-x86_64 -hda kvm_vista_RTM_smp_acpi_32e.img -net
nic,macaddr=00:16:3e:44:de:5e,model=rtl8139 -net tap,script=/etc/kvm/qemu-ifup -m 1024 -
cdrom /share/xvs/img/installation/Vistaamd64.iso -boot d

I presume you tested with KVM-36, right ?
Windows Vista guests (both 32-bit and 64-bit) fails on KVM-36 on both AMD64 and Intel64 processors.

yunfeng, this bug was inserted in kvm-36 bios,
we are working on a fix for this (it beacuse revision acpi is now able to be set to 2)
for now you can use the bios found in kvm-35 with kvm-36.

kvm-37 wiill include fix to it.
(the problem was the usage of revsion 2 in acpi table that didnt support it)
