Unfortunately, the instructions don't apply to Windows7. The names of the
devices are different, and I tried several of them with no effect. There
seems to be white noise in the audio.wav track, so Krut probably is reading
the wrong device, but I can't get it to point to the correct one.

Hello, I apologize for overlooking this post. Maybe the mail alert doesn't alert for Open Discussion posts?

Either way, all I can do at this point is to agree that the documentation is hopelessly outdated. Unfortunately, I don't think there's an easy way to summarize how to enable sound recording, because there are so many systems and sound cards (a similar problem applies if you want to document how to deactivate accelerated graphics). I would have to create too many separate documents, for hardware that I don't have access to. So I think the laid-back solution is the best one, in this case. I leave it up to each user how to apply these particular settings for their particular systems.

However, at the moment, for me, on a win7 computer, I find the settings under:

Loudspeaker Icon (Right Click)--> Recording Devices --> Stereo Mix --> Properties --> Use this device (Enable).

I should note that I also have a lot of white noise, but I also have the rest of the sound, and at least for my sound card I can mix the levels of the different input devices under "Stereo Mix --> Properties".

    Best regards,
    Jonas
