It's very likely that you have Lua 5, and Lua 4 is required. The reason 
is that I heard bad things about the first versions of Lua 5.0, and I 
never made the changes to upgrade. However, that was a long time ago 
and I guess it's stable now.

To compile, you'll have to get Lua 4, or (better) modify the intrface.c 
to work with Lua 5. Then you can submit it as a patch for us! Otherwise 
I might try and do it myself, but that will take me some time as I am 
busy on other things at the moment.
