Awesome work! I really appreciate all you've done.. I
was worried for a bit I'd have to use Windows for my
iPod when I have no other use for that OS. Anyways,
Apple convinced me that 50 bucks for the 10 extra GB
was worth my time and money. That means I ended up
with an iPod photo. It seems almost pointless to
request photo support, as I'm sure you get a lot of
requests (and I'd bet that's one) but I would be
willing to at least to do some general help - as in
doing all the reading / research for the file schemes
and the way photos resize (for example, the photo uses
3 different res copies of the same image when you
transfer) and letting you know. I'm only a beginner at
C++ (I could probably do it in php hehe) so producing
code would really just be me submitting crap for the
world to have to re-write. Let me know if you guys
have the time and interest of adding photo support and
I can offer at least a small helping hand.
How awesome would it be to add to Image Browsing in KDE
the option of "Add these photos to iPod on next sync"?

Hi,
quick answer: Yeah, great idea. Always looked for a reason
to get a new iPod: still have one of those good old 1st Gen w/
mech scroll wheel.
Seriously, I'd love to start hacking again: my todo list got
longer and longer and I got less and less time to hack. Well,
let's see: I still need to get some time to rewrite the parser to
enable iPod shuffle support, I know there already exists a
patch but I feel I have to rewrite my whole itunesDB code
since it's already too messy for my taste. If this is done I
would be glad to get some help from you. There're lots of
things to do like new and better looking utilities etc etc etc.
and I think the project needs a few more people to find some
new ideas etc.
About that "Add these photos to iPod on next sync": I've no
idea how to do that, so I'd be glad if someone does some
research/finds some ideas about this...
have fun
Michael
