KPB327 / News: Recent posts

There is now one manual for KPB327 - "kpb327.pdf". I will shortly be removing the separate PDF manuals for Flow327, Flux327 and Sync327. The new manual is a PDF version of the manual recently made available on the iTunes Bookstore.

I've now created a cleaner API for Flow327. This API has a class called "Flow327Agent" which Java Agents can use to create orders, fetch tasks, complete tasks etc. Demo programs flowdemo_create_2.java and flowdemo_task1_2.java show how the Flow327Agent class is used.

Flux327 now has a manual - which completes the set.

Sorry folks, both the kpb327.tar file and the project root only contain the PDF manuals for Flux327 and Sync327, but not the all-important Flow327 manual. I've now uploaded the Flow327 manual to the project root. Adding the Flow327 manual to the kpb327.tar file will happen shortly. (NB: I haven't yet started writing the Flux327 manual, so it's just a title-page at the moment.)

The main tar file now contains code & docs for flow327 (Order Management) and Sync327 (Resilient RPC). Flux327 (Basic Messaging) code is included, but I'm still writing the User Guide. User Guides are also available outside of the tar file, for casual download when evaluating the systems. If anyone has a comments on what they have seen so far, please let me know, via the forum. I'm especially interested in input relating to documentation and whether the purpose of the project is being clearly communicated.

The new version has been uploaded - with flow327 and test utilities, configs etc. But, as yet, the documentation hasn't been updated to include flow327.erl.

A new version of kpb327 is going to be uploaded soon - I'm just making some minor tweeks to it. In the new release, I'm changing the scope of the project slightly - using the kpb327 name as home to a number of related modules, all of which are useful building blocks for distributed enterprise systems. As well as an updated kpb327 (point-to-point messaging module), we now have flow327, which is a process workflow engine. Also, a small amount of load-testing has now taken place and I'm pleased to announce that the modules reliably go like the clappers.

New release uploaded which contains an updated fifo.erl. This version is really, really un-tested though ....
I'll add some build notes to the README.txt soon.
Default project web page is also going to be replaced.

Hello. The first tarball of KPB327 has been uploaded to this site. It's very much in an alpha state, with only basic functionality testing completed. A README.txt file is included which covers KPB327's reason for existence as well as basic usage guidance - in a Q&A-style format.
