Yes, the problem is with the asychroneous nature of the Google API. This happens when you close or lock the database (manually or automatically) while having autosave with autosync enabled.
I have already fixed the problem and it will be fixed in the next release.
In the meantime I recommend going back to v2.1.2

I had to follow the Portable Mode directions here: https://sourceforge.net/p/kp-googlesync/support/Getting%20Started/ and to note, specifically copy the folder to the Plugins folder and not simply the main folder that KeePass was installed to. After this, the error went away and the plugin worked. When in the main fodler, KeePass ignored the plugin entirely.

When are you planing to release the new version with this bug fix?
I just got the error on the latest version of KeePass (2.3.6 as of writing) and the plugin (3.0.1 as of writing).

Nevermind, I still get Empty path name is not legal when unlocking my station.
