Hi all :) I first want to say that out of all of the various IRC clients available under Linux, Konversation has become my favorite. It's looking great so far. I have used windows for a long time now and have moved (for the most part) over to SuSE because of the KDE desktop they default to. While using windows I prefer Klient (www.klient.com) to connect to IRC. Klient is actually more powerful than I need for an IRC application. I have never needed to add features via scripting but I guess thats always a nice option. Below are some things I liked about Klient and would love to see implimented in Konversation: 1. Configurable 'auto away' including time and message to display. 2. Minimize to system tray without being shown in task bar. 3. Configurable 'on connect' options to specify modes and commands to be sent to the server. X-Chat feature most liked: 1. Transparent background. (just looks cool) But this should extend to the nicklist and text input area too, I think. I would like to offer support via monetary donations if possible. I'm not sure if I noticed any such option on the site. Perhaps this will help sway someone to implement the above features. :) I know it's not easy to earn a living and work on projects such as this at the same time. Cheers, Dave Lozier |
