I've been very busy at Uni so haven't had time to even so much as touch the project. I'm hoping to get some done during the summer, but that's only if I have time. Sadly, not many people are interested in this project as it stands.

Once I fix the bug that the one person who downloaded this application found, and added more solid functionality, I'll add it to kde-apps.org and hopefully it will pick up a bit.

I've made a few major changes to kond. With a few bugs to iron out, it may be a few weeks before I can get this released to download. I'm still trying to get my CVS working.

The major changes are as follows:

Profiles: Users can specify profiles that include the number and names of each virtual desktop. When you change the profile, you change the virtual desktop settings.

Configuration File: I had problems with the configuration file in the 0.1alpha release and so this has been repaired. It is now a KConfig based configuration file, located in $KDEHOME.

Well it's finally happened, my first alpha release is available to download from the 'Files' section.

A few points. It is in alpha, so don't expect it to be perfect. There is a lot of functionality that I have not yet included in the release but I will be adding them at a later date. Of course, this does not mean that I am not open to suggestions!

Ironically, when I finally get round to releasing version 0.1alpha, no-one is viewing my site to download it :O( I hope this picks up!

I've been doing a lot of coding over the past few weeks and have a working version available to upload. I was going to do it tonight but ran out of time, sadly. It should be up within the next week. I will also be using this time to place files in the cvs too, so you can get to the latest versions.

I'd also like to take this time to mention my shock that over 60 people have already viewed my project! I never expected that many. If you have any ideas or questions, feel free to email me.

The initial designs and planning of the project have begun. I'm learning as I go so please be patient with releases. I do plan to make use of all aspects of this site, so eventually there will be a website and all the source in the CVS.

Let me explain a little more about kond. It will allow the user to specify what applications should belong on what desktop. For example, I have a desktop named Internet where I like all my browser windows to go. kond, once configured, will move applications when they are executed to the desktop it is configured for.... read more
