After a bit task of investigating how shared binaries work on modern GNU/linux systems (thanks to gdb and objdump), I wondered that libc6 wrapper calls sysenter instead of int $0x80 to enter on O.S.
You can see this watching the last uploaded video to the CVS - shared_binaries_entering_throught_sysenter_facility.ogg -.
So, now, I must read a lot of white-papers talking about sysenter/sysexit Intel functions and decide how to implement my modest_syshandler to intercept not only int $0x80 but sysenter asm calls.... read more
Hello there, finally a new project was opened on sf.net: my MODEST LKM.
Today I have been uploading into CVS repository all projects related with it, such as kmodest-src , kmodest-doc, kmodest-patch, etc ...
I have been uploading a few of screen shots, also.
See you,
