Sometimes (I could not determine circumstances yet) klear 0.6.0 crashes with segmentation fault, when changing channels using DVB-T. After this happened even a restart of klear can not open the DVB-T device. I get the message "can not open device ..." with scrambled arbitrary characters in device name.
Even no other application (for instance kaffeine) can open the device.Bofore this happened ther was no problem.
After restarting linux all is OK again.
Is there a possible work around to reset the device without restarting the system?

Happened to me as well. Found out , it was a certain (encrypted) channel in the list, which I deleted and no more problems..

You don't need to restart Linux. The problem is that when klear crashes it doesnt completely die-it just half-dies and keeps holding on to the dvb /dev mount-which is why you get the "can not open device ..." error. The workaround is: killall -9 klear. So when klear crashes simply open a terminal and type in that command...and for good measure once you have issued the command simply press the up arrow on your keyboard (which should scroll back through bash history-depending on your bash config) and you should see the same thing you just typed again-press enter again-at this point you should get a message in your terminal: no such process....Now you can restart klear. Additionally I have had problems with channels being supposedly available but not actually working-if I switch to those channels klear crashes-if I then simply kill klear and restart it it tries again to access the channel which did not work. So I kill klear and then open ~/.klear/klear.conf and look for the line where the current channel is listed-then I change it to the name of a channel which is known to work...
