Is it possible to create a dim file that consist of video or audio content from archive.org. For instance, there could be an old time radio dim. a newsreels dim , a film noir dim, the most popular feature films dim etc. I know that video files can be large, but there could be a selection, or there could only be an old time radio dim with select quality programs such a NBC university theater, the mercury theater and you are there?
For instance, you could set up at dilm file of radio versions of famous literature using
These four would cover many of the most famous works in literature, and present decent quality. The Dim file would be searchable, as well as have some button for genres. If you want to include historical events, you could add the series "you are there" and "cbs is there". Then you could add a button called "historical events"
All of these are downloadable from archive.org.
Where is the specification of that dim file? How is that better than the ZIM format (www.openzim.org)?
I am sorry, I mean zim file. I am not a computer geek. Sory.
Best regards

Yes, this is possible, but this need a dedicated scraper, depending of what you want exactly provided as a ZIM file? Do you have a clear idea/urls?
Here is a list of famous authors on old time radio shows.
http://www.otrplotspot.com/famousAuthors.html
This must be cross checked against the old time radio archive at archive.org
.
Then the database must be searchable and there must be a drop down menu of
various authors and the possibility to sort them alphabetically. If the
audio files in total become too large, then the minor authors must be
omitted.
