I believe that a popular use of a portable Wikipedia would be its use as a field guide. This is because the only reason one would get a portable Wikipedia is to find out about something they are not aware of. It's certainly what I'm looking for.

Picture it: Adding this to the program would allow anyone, anywhere, to identify possible safety hazards. All for less than a gigabyte (at least, for now). WITHOUT INTERNET!

I'm not suggesting that this be done immediately, but rather over time, maybe a few per version. One could easily start with the Black Widow and go from there.

Here's a great list to start. If crowdsourcing is an option, count me in:

I might also add that the chosen tag(s) can be applicable to plants such as Poison Ivy.

In my opinion, this would be greatly innovative.

The Kiwix project does not work on the contents themself. It only proposes to package/spread pre-existing contents. Your proposition shoul dbe addressed to Wikipedia in my opinion. Hope this helps!

Do you think it a good idea yourself?

Yes, this is a good idea. Do you know the book creator? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Book
