Yes... even if this not really a priority for us. Sounds pretty much like a nice use case. In addition, Kiwix being agnostic (not Wikipedia specific), the solution to implement this is a bit more complex.

@Michael Nothin new... but by reading the ticket I start to have a doubt I understood it properly. Could you detail please: the problem and the solution you have in mind with a step-by-step procedure?

OK, in Android you can have a link that "points" to a Wikipedia entry. Android has a number of Apps registered that serve such links. Web browser (Chrome e.g.), or Aard2, are both offered. The Kiwix App is not offered, although it can handle Wikis and Wikipedia.
Why is that, pls. ?

Hello Emmanuel, I suppose the definition of the problem is clarified, right ?
Any idea when this will be fixed, pls. ? It cannot be much of an issue. Only "tell" Android that Kiwix is "interested" in this type of Wikipedia links.

Hi Michael, I do not think we are going to have this soon. One important step to be able to achieve this properly will be done in the next months (removing the concept of namespace in ZIM files)... but then we need to check that the URL schemes between the ZIM and the online version. Find a way to document it in the ZIM and then finally to implement the feature in Android... Quite a bit of work to do that properly.

you mean http://en.wikipedia.org/.... link? So basically a link which is not provided inside Kiwix but outside Kiwix?
Exactly, such type of link. I am offered Chrome, Firefox - and Aard2 as Apps to take over the link and serve.

Hi Emmanuel, with the new massive funding I read about recently, is there a chance that such will be implemented ?
I can not say, but a few things will go in that direction. You should migrate that ticket to https://github.com/kiwix/kiwix-android
TXs. Done. M
