KINg! v1.2.2

Finally KINg! has made it to 1.2.2! the first really stable and useful version!
This version will be probably the last before we rewrite KINg! in C for maximum performance.
We have added a very complete documentation (in spanish) explaining installation procedure, design concepts, and internal mechanisms. Enjoy!

KINg! engine 1.1.5 released

Well, I now we promised not to waste any more time with the engine, because it was working well...
The new engine was made up from zero. Now it's multithreaded (multiprocess) and more easily extendable!
Soon we will finish the engine's second service: the indexer!

KINg finally on CVS

Well, now finally got our project on the CVS server, and in a couple of day we'll start testing some techniques on the indexer and classifier modules. Also, there's 1.0.2 version! some minor bug fixes, nothing serious!

KINg (KINg Is Not google!) 1.0 released!!!

So what's KINg?
KINg is an effort to create a search engine capable of manipulating several document formats and several archive formats.
It's not at first intended to be used as a web search engine, but a local digital document search engine, given the high quantity of books and articles that today exists in ps, html, pdf and so on.
With the 1.0 release, we have a search engine (KINg-engine) that works pretty good!
The idea is to create an intelligent indexer that uses this engine so that we can make a big index and make the searches faster, but the engine itself if very functional!
KINg-engine has a kind of plugin API to expand the formats that supports, actually it supports tar and gzipped archives, and text, html files, the rest is treated like clear text.
Give it a try!
