There is a much easier way:

=46ire up YaST2 and set up a new Source of Installation. Enter "ftp-site" a=
nd=20
use=20
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/updat=
e_for_8.2/yast-source/

Then you can select "Install and Remove Software" and search for "kde". Sel=
ect=20
all packages that can be upgraded from version 3.1x to 3.2.1. You'll need t=
o=20
restart X after that (for good measure, do a reboot).
