I use klie for editing in linux, but is unable to see the danish character , while the capital is ok. When I compile the latex or bibtex source the is ok, but in the editor it appeas as a square box. What can I do?
A second question, have you considered to include the remaining bibtex options (inbook, incollection,...) in the Bibliography menu, personally I think it would be very useful.
Best Regards
Martin

Choose as your encoding
ISO 8859-1
(this can be done in the file selector sidebar, there is a combobox at the bottom where you can select the encoding). In the documentation of kile-1.5.2 there is also a section about setting the encoding (Help->Kile Handbook).

Can you send me a text file that reproduces the problem (I don't have a Danish keyboard...), so I can try to check/fix the problem? It seems that the problem is in the editor part (which is provided by the Qt libraries), so upgrading your Qt libraries (to version 3.1.2 for example) might also fix the problem (just guessing).
You can send the file to:

I've checked with kile-1.5.2 (KDE3.1.1 and Qt3.1.2) and with the CVS version, both showed the character just fine.
Do you have any problems with other KDE programs (such as kate)? In CVS, we're using the same internal editor as Kate uses, so I don't expect that the problem will appear with the next release.
You might try to update your Qt version (or use the CVS version of kile). It could also be that your fonts are corrupted. It is hard to tell, really, since I can't reproduce it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
best,
Jeroen
