code spacing on Linux

--not sure if this a java problem or if it is specific to this application -- at any rate notification that this issue exists is probably helpful...
Using 1.5.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 the code "gets in front of" the cursor see attachment.. in the attachment the code should be "for $num in 1 to 10 return $num"
however the extra characters are beyond that of the cursor. If you can see the cursor the m in num is to right of the cursor however the cursor is as far right as it will go. if I press backspace I can delete the whole line however as you can see the cursor is not lining up with the width of each character and gets behind.
After some digging this transcends just the xQuery sandbox, (Note the java is sun-java6 and not openjdk) and that sounds like it points more to org.bounce then a kernow package, but I havent done much into understanding the source.
1.5.1 is an old version, if possible upgrade to the latest version. If not, you may be able to drop in a newer version of Bounce.
actually it is 1.6.1 I wrote down the wrong version number. looking into bounce....
