I can´t find an example for the album.xml file which
should be included to the .zip file. Perhaps it is
possible for you to send it to me or tell me, where I
can find it.
Are you trying to upload or download?
If you just trying to upload use the directory import.
it will take your files and create and album.xml into the
working directory.

Thank you for your answer. I want to enable other people to
upload pictures without having file- or ftp-access. As it is
more comfortable to upload just one file, I wanted to use the
zip-file-upload and therefore I needed the album.xml.
Do I have to generate thumbnails and scaled images to put
them into the zip-file?
thx,
karin

The zip file option was really meant to be transfering from
one installation to an other. You can however do what you
wanted to do:
1. your user can upload the pictures one by one. that is not
fun:).
2. you can set the import directory in the configuration
file. you set it to an ftp enalbed directory. than you do a
bulk import from the filesystem. This case the thumbnails
are all generated by keptar.
