Insert Field Reference : properly select source field
A lightweight and easy-to-use password manager

When using "Insert Field Reference" in the "Edit Entry" screen, the new window seem to always select "Password" as the "Source field to reference", even if you selected "In User Name field" or any other field.
It would be more logical to select the matching field. There might be some case where you want to reference different field, but I guess that in most cases, you'll choose the matching field.
The following suggestion does not directly address your request, but I usually find the 'Duplicate Entry' feature to be more convenient to use when inserting field references for new entries. In a single step, it can insert field references to both the Username and Password into a new entry. Try right clicking on an entry, select 'Duplicate Entry' from the context menu and select 'Replace usernames and passwords by references' from the 'Duplication Options' dialog.
Yes, this is what I usually do, but I noticed this (issue ?) when I needed to change one field reference.
That's a great idea! I've implemented it for both KeePass 1.x and 2.x.
Here are the latest development snapshots for testing:

KeePass 2.x: http://keepass.info/filepool/KeePass_150227c.zip
Thanks and best regards,
