Hello — I just switched to the portable verison of keepass — I have it on a flash/thumb drive and just to clarify does the config (xml) file keep track of the different computes that I am using this on?
In addition, I an also using the onedrive plugin.
Now when the I open keepass with the pluging, It maintains a local copy of the kdbx file — I been saving it in the same place on each computer,
c:\users{name}\workdir\psfile.kdbx
Would it make more sense to save in the same folder as keepass.exe or at least on the thumb drive, but in differnet folder?
It seems that when I have been (re)restarting keepass, it can’t find the PW file and when I look at what the “recent files” where the paths don’t make any sense —
Where would be the best place to save / keep the local copy of the pw file for the plugin?
Thanks
fpe

Configuration is computer specific and all paths are set relative to KeePass.exe, unless there is a different drive letter involved. Having relative paths makes it easier to use the portable version.
Leaving a copy of the database on each machine seems strange as you are using portable KeePass. Why portable KeePass? Why a local copy?
No matter where you save the database you need to make a regular backup. Assuming this is waht the OneDrive plug-in is for, why not keep the database on the USB along with KeePass.exe?
cheers, Paul
