Hi, sorry am new and not techy.
When trying to make a new database, [file > new] I click to the location I want to to be stored and it errors:

    LOCATION
    File not found
Check the filename and try again

It's a brand new install so I don't know what it's looking for?
EDIT: for clarity, it does not prompt me to make a password

The best place to create a new database is the "Documents" folder. You can select this from the left pane of the file creation box.

Where are you trying to create the database?

    cheers, Paul

      Hi Paul,
I've been trying to place it in the documents folder on my C Drive but that's when the error happens as if it's trying to open one.

Maybe you are running KeePass as a different user who doesn't have permission in Documents, or you have "Controlled Folder Access" turned on?

    cheers, Paul

Ah, 'Controlled Folder Access' might be the key here I will check when I get home - thanks!

    File not found

it does not prompt me to make a password

Both of these make it sound like KeePass thinks you want to open an existing database, not create a new one. Are you sure you selected "New"?

Aha I know! I am definitely 100% clicking NEW. Tried it several times in different folders/subfolders and it does the same.

Will be turning off controlled access as suggested above and see if that works.
