I cannot locate in the help system nothing about Duplication Options window.
Is there any magic way to change which checkboxes in this window are checked by default?
Currently adding "-Copy" and copying history is checked by default. Since this is a complete misunderstanding as per me. I am duplicating any entry to have the new copy with exactly the same name, so no -Copy, and without history. So I have to uncheck the above sometimes 100 of times per day.
Is there any way to change the default behviour of this dialog box?
@wellread1 Thank you, I will try to rise a feature request.
@pail459 This is (from business perspective) splitting down to too low level.
Doesn't matter, if I sue Templates or not (but thanks for pointing me there!).
I can be duplicating 100 of items per hour (and Templates idea is valid) or I can be duplicating one item per week (Templates idea invalid -- too much effort for configuring, too many scenarios where they can fail or not be flexible enough, too little positive effect).
What matters, is that currently KeePass enforces me to do so. KeePass tries to think / decide for me and is all wrong about that. The most common scenario in business analysis.
Software (or cloud service) must not enforce me to do anything. Period. The way how software or service creator thinks nearly never matches the way how their users thinks. We call that "different Personas" (Personae) in budiness analysis.
Either there should be some configuration switch that I could check or uncheck to decide, which checkboxes will be checked each time I see this window. Or the window it self should remember my last choices and replicate them next time it is shown.
The whole above thing is written from business perspective's guidelines. I am not a developer right now (I was 20 years ago and even then we were already recording "last user choice" in each and every dialog box), I don't know KeePass -- neither program nor its ecosystem -- so I don't know if above is feasible or wanted from developers perspective. I know how it should be and what the BA guidelines are. Thanks

The defaults for this dialog cannot be changed. You must select the desired behavior each time you duplicate entries.
Why are you duplicating 100 items?
Have you tried using Templates?
There is also a KPEntryTemplates plug-in to manage your templates.
