Is there actually a global blacklist for Auto-Type in which I can enter applications (via Windows title or similar) that are generally excluded from Auto-Type?
It has somtimes happened to me that my mail application has stupidly become an Auto-Type target, which has of course triggered various functions via the keyboard shortcuts. That's really annoying.
Best regards Martin

@dreichl Is this even a solution if you use CTRL-V? I thought that the element that last had the focus would receive the input information.
@pail459 OK, I see. In addition to CTRL-V, which I use exclusively (because it requires less configuration effort and the other reason see below), there is also the global auto-type hot key. In my opinion, the above approach from Dominik would be the appropriate solution only for the hot key variant, or am I wrong?
However, the hot key is probably not the solution for me, as I have different access data for the same target application. With the CTRL-V variant, it unfortunately happens from time to time that after setting the focus in the target application, I accidentally click on the e-mail client, for example, which logically changes the focus. In a rush, sometimes you simply don't remember to do this and the autotype sequence ends up in the mail application or another application that was clicked by mistake.
Therefore the question to a global blacklist for the CRTL-V variant.

There is no such option. KeePass does not perform any check of the underlying app.
It is up to you to maintain focus for the target app, or use the Global Auto-Type hot keys for matching.

This is the solution! Simply modify the XML configuration file in the node Configuration / Integration /AutoTypeAbortOnWindows and you get a warning pop up when a forbidden windows is the target! @dreichl: You are the best!

Sure, see the FAQ:

What do you mean "has become a target"?
How does it manifest? Exact steps please.
cheers, Paul

There is; see the paragraph 'Abort During Auto-Type (For Experts)' (in the 'KeePass 2.x Only' box) in the FAQ item that I linked to.
