Keepass does not erase password from clipboard.

Hi there !
I am writing to you because I have a problem, everything is in the title.

I found out that keepass does not erase windows clipboard passwords. Even having checked the option "delete the clipboard after X seconds" it is set to 12 seconds.
Ditto in the advanced options, the 3 boxes are checked, but when keepass is closed, the passwords are not deleted from the windows clipboard.

I'm on keepass version 2.51.1.

I tell myself that maybe Keepass does not have permission to delete on the Windows clipboard? how to check this?
Someone would have any idea ?

on the other hand I read the FAQ before coming to post my message here.
The cases exploded in the FAQ do not concern me, my problem is that keepass does not erase the contents of the clipboard. And what I take copy something else or not.

Clipboard isn't a keepass software so what happens on clipboard is a Windows O/S control. Is there a reason why you can't use keepass to input and save the login/pswd to better secure the logins.

Not so. Standard methods to write or destroy the Clipbpoard are provided to apps. Please read the original post and Dominik's reply.

What exactly are you doing, step by step. The thing is, it does erase the clipboard for other people, so what exactly is different in your case? Please create a step by step guide, and then others will attempt to reproduce the problem.

I open my keepass, I open the entry I need, I copy paste the password with ctrl-c I paste it in my field with ctrl-v and I close my entry. This is how I use keepass.

I know there is the autofill option, but it doesn't interest me, I prefer to copy paste my password.

Regarding the keepass options, I put you an image of how they are configured.

There are many ways to let keepass know you are copying a password. You can double click on the password in the column view. You can use the icons. Or, highlighting the appropriate record you can press ctrl-C for the password or ctrl-b for the username. A green bar will appear in the bottom right to count down the time until the clipboard is erased.

I'm sure there are other ways as well. But if the green bar doesn't appear in the lower right counting down the time, you haven't let keepass know you are copying a password or username.

Hello Dominique, Thank you for your answer, indeed I systematically copied the password by opening the edit window, it seemed natural to me.

By copying it directly, the password is deleted from the Windows clipboard.
