KDOS

It´s a simple OS that boots from a floppy drive, it supports multitasking, works in protected mode and textmode 80x25 at 256 colors, it includes simple applications/games, such as pong and a very simple frogger, the API that KDOS gives you is minimalistic, this is great if you are a beginner at OS development or if you want to develop simple text mode games in other OS than DOS

This OS was tested under Windows 7, 32 and 64 bits, using Oracle VirtualBox.
The included source is quite simple and the applications must be compiled with the OS, we tested this using cygwin binutils and nasmw from an unknown source, but the nasm included in cygwin should work fine, for windows .bat files are supplied.

Ok, I´m a beginner and I want to continue this proyect, what´s next?

This proyect is not gonna be continued, but the idea is that you can make your own OS from it, so:

• You may add filesystem support
• By now any app, must be compiled as part of the kernel
• There are still some bugs, mainly of them are memory related
• Start developing textmode games, take advantage of multitasking BTW!
