#147 kdiff3 on OSX from command line at bottom of window stack

No

On OSX 10.58 I've sym-linked the native kdiff3 to use it in preference to the MacPorts X11 one. (kdiff3 Version 0.9.95)

But when I use it on the command line the kdiff3 window always goes to the back of the window stack, behind Firefox, behind Thunderbird, etc, etc.

It's probably one additional line of Qt code to bring the kdfiff3 window to the front at startup.

    I have no Mac and can't reproduce on my systems.
    If you can compile yourself try to add a raise()-command in kdiff3.cpp.
    In method KDiff3App::completeInit() there are two places that look like the following code. Add the raise command twice.
    if ( m_pOptionDialog->m_bMaximised )
    m_pKDiff3Shell->showMaximized();
    else
    m_pKDiff3Shell->show();

    • m_pKDiff3Shell->raise();

    Please report if it works.
    (But perhaps the bug isn't there with the new Qt-version 4.7 anyway.)

    Here is my hack to raise the window explicitly in the KMainWindow constructor:

    KMainWindow::KMainWindow( QWidget* parent )
    QMainWindow( parent ), m_actionCollection(this)
    {
    ...
    raise();
    }
