#47 kchmviewer fails to show contents table

As it says in the title, kchmviewer fails to show contents table of the chm file I link to[1]. Windows' own chm viewer shows the contents table just fine if the locale for non-unicode programs is not set to "Chinese (Simplified, PRC)", otherwise it fails miserably.

I have detected this problem with:
distro: Arch Linux x86-64
kchmviewer 7.7 (downloaded from the distro's repository)
qt 5.8
not using KDE
