[Kbarcode] Using < and > in a custom variable

Hello kbarcode,

I am importing data from a csv file.
On my label definition I have included a custom variable.
The data for this variable from the csv input file contains a < or a >.
It always gets output on the label as &lt; or &gt;

How can I get it to print as < or > ?
