I have tried to do an install on two different computers with the same result. Everything goes fine until the grub2 installation - it fails the same each time saying it cannot be installed. I would really like to use this distro but I cannot get it installed.

    HI Robin,

One needs to ensure that the network is up and running prior to the installation. I've noticed that sometimes the installation procedure wants to install GRUB related software which it must download, and if it cannot, the installation will fail as you've noted. Please be sure your network is operational. Also, please let us know your result.

    Thanks, and 73,

The network is up and running properly. So far this happened with 3 computers. It is not a network issue. I am a Systems Administrator so I am aware of networking issues.

    Hi Robin,

    • Are you using version 24c downloaded from Sourceforge?
    • Did you verify the MD5SUM after downloading?
    • Can you send a screenshot from when the failure occurs?
    • Is the computer upon which the software is being installed booted via legacy BIOS or UEFI?

    Thanks, and 73,

      Andy,
I am using the latest.iso from the website. The USB will only boot with LEGACY. I just get the failure when grub2 is being installed. The message says it cannot write to HD. I don’t want to try again to install since the install completely trashes my HD. So I cannot provide the screenshot. I have finally given up and installed the Debian Pure Blend for Ham Radio. I was really looking forward to using your distro but it is not to be.

    HI Robin,

I'm sorry that AHRL didn't work for you. I hope that Debian Pure Blend meets your needs.
