Hi Everybody,

In version 16, the problem I've had with the Ubiquity hard drive installer continue to perplex me. The installation will fail during the installation of GRUB. Please follow the instructions to remedy the situation, and accept my apology for not being able to fix it correctly. Note that this problem does not occur on the 64-bit version.

Note that these instructions can be found in Menu->System->README First (only on the 32-bit distribution).

HOWTO Fix the V16 32-bit Installation

When installing the 32-bit version of this software collection,
one will probably encounter an error regarding the GRUB installation.
Here's how to work around that problem.

Choose to continue the installation without installing a boot loader.
Bring up a console terminal (Menu->Terminal)
sudo killall -9 ubiquity
df -h and be sure that /target is still mounted. If not, something else is wrong.
sudo chroot /target
/root/bin/fix_hd_install
exit
sync (just for good measure)

Now, reboot the computer and be sure that it boots from the hard drive.
