sorry to double send, one thing just struck me - if there was a keyboard 
shortcut to reach the welcome screen (where one can press numbers to get to 
the various features), would be an absolutely fantastic solution...

Hey guys,

Of course amazing work et c. - major kaffeine fan.

Just wondering if there were any plans to impliment a shortcut/dcop
call/something keyboard-triggerable to have the same effect as pressing
the "Play Playlist" button in the welcome screen? (e.g. a playList call to go
with playDVB, playVCD, playAudioCD and playDVB)

For example, if playing DVB, it's (seemingly) impossible to switch back to
playing the playlist, without using the mouse.  A bit annoying and i'm sure
easily fixed if you ever get a spare moment! would be much appreciated...

One more thing... xmms-like 'jump' dialog for the playlist? now that would be
killer..
