Hello, I'm using Kaffeine on SuSE 10.0 with a Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C card. I was very happy with them at first, it took me less than an hour to get everything working and that time includes installing the PCI card to the case, finding tools, wiring the box to a TV and so forth, even though I have no previous experience with DVB cards. I was then able to watch TV, time-shift, set recordings etc - simply a really nice out-of-the-box experience. After some updates I made (I think) Kaffeine now crashes with signal 11 every time I try to watch TV, after some 10 seconds, sometimes a bit longer. It makes no difference if I watch just one channel or if I zap between channels during this time. I tried Klear, another KDE and Xine based DVB app, to get a second opinion, and the card works just fine there. I have no problems with Kaffeine when watching previously recorded programs, which were recorded as the transport stream. "kaffeine --version" gives: Qt: 3.3.5 KDE: 3.5.2 Level "a" Kaffeine Player: 0.8.1 I updated Kaffeine from supplementary KDE update RPM repository for SuSE 10.0, and the version is now 0.8.1-6, but the problem stays even if I downgrade to version 0.8.1-0 from the Packman repo. I'm happy to investgate more if somebody is interested in this problem - I'd like to use Kaffeine as my DVB application as it has a lot of potential. -Teemu |
