It was discussed before that in more detail, you can search the archives. I am pretty sure there has been a lot of water through the river here. > Several people on a number of other forums I have visited (while > extremely grateful for the efforts of the development team) have > expressed considerable annoyance at this change. Because of that, we discussed what was most logical, and decided to reverse the direction. Although I think the way it is now is the 'correct' way, I too was getting used to the way it used to work, so now I have to adapt. But I don't mind. > As an interesting example you might wish to consider that some time > ago I built a computer for my Sister and for my four year old niece to > watch her Disney type movies on. I am thinking of it like reading a book or a web page. When you want to go forward in the text, you go further _down_ the page, so you scroll down with your mouse wheel. Same thing with the rolling credits at the end of the movie, the new text comes up from the bottom of the screen, so when you want to move forward you have to look further down in the movie, so you have to scroll down. > My own preference would be to have the default/normal (and most > natural) behavior restored - but failing this I certainly think this > should be a user selectable option. I really think you are overestimating how many people are bothered by this. As I noted earlier I wouldn't mind a setup option to reverse the direction, but I think it is correct the way it works now.
