Hi,
I have posted to SF a not so little patch that enables optional nested scopes
semantic
as in CPython 2.1b1: for the details check

For the moment
from __future__ import nested_scopes
does not setup nested scope for the entire session
from an interactive prompt ( the necessary
hooks are already there )

but it works at file level.

Very cool. I have used the patched version against the tests I have and
with my own applications (which are not using nested scopes of course)
and I have not found any problems at all. Lets get it committed ASAP.

I also tried it with the test_future.py from 2.1b1. The test_future3
fails, but I certainly like our message better.

The nested scope feature is a major step towards a 2.1a1 release of
Jython.
