I think the Problem is that ubuntu 9.10 uses ibus...
I started jUploadr 1.1.2 from the commandline and saw this:
(SWT:3905): IBUS-WARNING **: Connect to unix:abstract=/tmp/dbus-vdEt2iRmLy,guid=fd89d51b418ce3b5ce6a9ff04af6866d failed: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-vdEt2iRmLy: Connection refused.
It looks like the App doesn't get the click on the Upload-Button...
I've also tried with the latest Alpha: jUploadr-1.2alpha1-linuxGTK-i386
It seems to have the same problem... but I don't launched it with the terminal...
Ubuntu 9.10, Java 1.6.0_0, etc
Upload button doesn't work - no errors/output on the command line and nothing in /var/log/* either.
After an hour of preparing photos and finding that the Upload button didn't do anything I must admit I swore at jUploadr more than a few times. (Especially as there's no 'save state' option so my only option seemed to be to throw my tags/descriptions/etc away)
However, you can actually get it to upload your photos. It seems that although it doesn't notice a mouse click, it will notice the 'Upload!' button being pressed using the keyboard. So, click/highlight the button with your mouse, then just hit the spacebar. It works for me; my photos start uploading.
