As learning project, I'm going to edit the JM source to improve the way the log operates.
As it is now, it appears all entries are erased after a certain size is reached. In my mind, it would be much better to delete just enough of the oldest entries to accommodate new ones. That way I don't lose the opportunity to use the semiautomatic reporting feature for the most recent spam messages that that get dumped when the log is cleared.

There's a setting in Preferences that allows you to turn off periodic erasing of the Log.
