Hei all developers, while answering on an email on the JTS list, I saw that for DeleteDublicateGeometries I am still carrying the copyright although the class was changed by others (see the header below). However, for the test-class it was used: Copyright (C) 2012 The JUMP/OpenJUMP contributors for those who do not know: keeping the copyright notice apart from the license notice allows the author to reuse code later in another product ... you never know ;) (And this has been important for ISA and will be probably for the ADBToolbox makers) http://www.majordojo.com/2010/07/license-vs-copyright.php However, an option as well is to use term "JUMP/OpenJUMP contributors" as you did for the test class.I haven't seen before that we use that. This wouldn't allow any of us to reuse code in products with other licenses - as it is not clear who the "JUMP/OpenJUMP contributors" are/have been (... in lets say 5 years). But it clarifies that this contribution comes from the project - and is important as well. So, any opinions on that? Did you guys talk about that in the last year when I was off the grid? My opinion is that each author should decide from himself what he is going to put there, and OpenJUMP contributors seems to me a good "tag" (or shall we use "JUMP Pilot Project"?). If we have a agreement on that we need to write that as project policy somewhere (wiki - developer area). So, that those who want to contribute know the rules before-hand. stefan /* * The Unified Mapping Platform (JUMP) is an extensible, interactive GUI * for visualizing and manipulating spatial features with geometry and attributes. * * JUMP is Copyright (C) 2003 Vivid Solutions * * This program implements extensions to JUMP and is * Copyright (C) Stefan Steiniger. * * This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or * modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License * as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 * of the License, or (at your option) any later version. * * This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, * but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of * MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
