Simon,

I've been lurking for the past few years because I'm working on a Bachelor of 
Science Degree in Applied Mathematics. It just so happens I was discussing 
the JSBSim piston engine model with one of my professors (PhD) this week with 
the idea of documenting it in a mathematical modeling paper.

I'm approaching it with a fresh set of eyes and and newly honed appreciation 
of calculus, ODEs and math modeling skills. What is it you think needs to be 
changed, and why?
