Does anyone have a working version of JSBSim that runs in modern Simulink? Looking to learn how to compile into a s-function that works in Simulink, but can't seem to compile with newer tools. Hello, Patrick! Almost a year ago i was asked the same question and i recompiled old S-Function project and placed it on my github repo. However, since nobody was interested (the guy, who asked about that - dissapeared since then), i removed those two JSBSim-Matlab projects. I would add that incorporation of JSBSim code into .mex files is not very useful. You can use Matlab sockets to in/out data and external JSBSim app for modeling. Really wonder how do you intend to use s-function project in an efficient way. 2015-09-13 2:52 GMT+03:00 Patrick Healey <ph...@te...>: > Hello everyone, > > Does anyone know a good place to get the s-function download? Hello everyone, Does anyone know a good place to get the s-function download? As noted back in May, the dropbox download on the JSBSim website is down. Unfortunately, the git repository that was set up has also gone down. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, ~Patrick Healey |

Hello! I recompiled and rebuilt S-Function project for MSVC. Try this link: https://github.com/EliaTarasov/JSBSim-Matlab-Simulink Also, there is another JSBSim-Matlab project (for MSVC) https://github.com/EliaTarasov/JSBSim-Matlab |

Hi all, I wanted to download the latest JSBSIM S-Fucntion project, but the link provided on http://jsbsim.sourceforge.net/matlab.html doesn't contain the file anymore. It links to Dropbox page where it says "Restricted Content This file is no longer available due to a takedown request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act by The Mathworks Lab. Learn more about Dropbox's copyright policy." Do you have an alternative download on Sourceforge? Is somebody working on resolving this issue with Dropbox? I thought that distributing user-created S-functions doesn't violate any copyright. Thanks for you reply. Regards Michal |

Hi, Artem! Code can be downloaded here: https://github.com/EliaTarasov/JSBSim-Matlab-Simulink Don't forget to change paths to Matlab include/lib dirs at C++ project settings. Basically it's a quick and raw solution, just to quick jump in. Further improvements are needs to be done to make it usable like aformentioned Matlab_SFunction project. |

Hello! I built and run both JSBSimGUI_SFunction and JSBSim_Matlab projects which are mentioned here: http://jsbsim.sourceforge.net/matlab.html However, i was able to find only JSBSimGUI_SFunction v. 0.3 from here: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/25042-jsbsim-s-function-gui-0-3 Screenshot is here: http://imgur.com/svUAify It was mentioned that the latest release of JSBSimGUI_SFunction included 3D-visualization tool and other convenient tools. It seems that v.0.3 is not the latest release because i was not able to find any 3D there. The questions: 1. Could anyone provide a more recent version? (even if it not to be compilable). 2. In a previous few messages that nice video had been mentioned: https://youtu.be/JCjRGJTWe5k I think those green, red and blue axes are refers to a quantities such as velocities, rates, or accelerations. Does the latest release of JSBSimGUI_SFunction provide such an interface "from a box" or it can be achieved by additional Matlab coding? Thanks! |

Hello Mike, please, if you have a working set of sources and a minimal explanation of how to compile it would be great to include it in official JSBSim code base, under a folder named "Matlab". May be Jon can give a hint on this point. You can send me a private mail with a Dropbox link so that I can test the code before committing. Hello, Aug 2013 ago I performed a good bit of work on this and was able to recompile the Matlab/Simulink modules against JSBSim 1.0. The issue wasn't the version of Matlab, but instead the fact that the Matlab wrapper codes point to data within classes that had been moved around by the JSBSim development team. It took me a few weeks to rewrite the wrapper files for all the changes that had been made, but I managed to avoid changing the JSBSim source itself. I had intended to share this with Agostino so he could include it? Ideally it would be nice if it could get into the JSBSim source tree. Anyway, should I do this now? Mike S |

Sure, I think we could try and follow the line of work done by James Goppert a couple of years ago. Hello Elias, yes it was Matlab v2008a. The JSBSim sources were frozen in time and used to build the Mex files. Unfortunately I haven't had time to look at some items on my TODO list. One of them was: using the latest JSBSim cvs version and distribute only the sources related to the Mex files. Volunteers are welcome to revamp this project. I'd be more than happy to support them. JSBSim-Matlab hasn't been supported for a long time, i believe 2-3 years. Maybe, if you manage to get exactly the same version of Matlab, for which this packet has been built, then you could get a workable one. Matlab 2008 if i remember correctly. |

Hi Ivo, I'm glad you are interested in JSBSim-Matlab. The webpage http://jsbsim.sourceforge.net/matlab.html is obviously a place to go and have a look at what has been done. Bear in mind that the JSBSim code that has been used there is outdated. For example, the current version of JSBSim uses a sligtly more articulated mechanism to propagate the simulation in time. But if you are willing to develop you should acquire some familiarity with the C++ language (sorry). You can take this as a kind of 'technical challenge', at least it was to me when I wanted to learn the details of JSBSim some time ago. That said, I inform you that recently I've revamped my original code (that dates back to 2008) on wich the JSBSim-Matlab-Simulink code is based. The idea is again to build a mex file, named MexJSBSim.mexw64 on Win64. The Mex-function exposes JSBSim internals to the Matlab environment. The open repository of this project is here: https://bitbucket.org/agodemar/jsbsimmatlab You'll find the C++ code of the JSBSim-to-Matlab interface in /JSBSimMatlab/JSBSimInterface.h /JSBSimMatlab/JSBSimInterface.cpp Good luck, Agostino ------------------------------------------------------- Agostino De Marco, PhD Assistant Professor of Flight Mechanics Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale - Sezione Aerospaziale Aircraft Design & AeroFlightDynamics Group (ADAG) ** University of Naples Federico II ** Department Industrial Engineering - Aerospace Division ** Aircraft Design & AeroFlightDynamics Group Web 1: www.dii.unina.it Web 2: www.adag.unina.it ------------------------------------------------------- Ivo Pires <pir...@gm...> ha scritto: > Hi, > > I am Ivo Pires from Portugal and I'm an aerospace engineer. > I've been working in aviation maintenance related activities but I'd like > to embrace a more technical challenge (for instance, as an opensource > developer) to have some fun and to learn/remind somethings. > > I came across JSBSIM and found it interesting, therefore I'd like to learn > a little bit more about it. > I am familiar with matlab and with C language (unfortunately not with C++) > so I think that maybe it would be easier for me, and more "time-effective", > to try to figure out how the Matlab version of JSBSIM works. > > I don't no if you have a better suggestion for my early steps, but I think > that it would be interested for me to "play" a little bit with the existing > Matlab code and after that try to start to develop something. > Any instructions "for dummys" alike, so that I may start to climb the > ladder? > > Best regards, > Ivo > ---- 5x1000 AI GIOVANI RICERCATORI DELL'UNIVERSITÀ DI NAPOLI Codice Fiscale: 00876220633 www.unina.it/Vademecum5permille |

Hi, I am Ivo Pires from Portugal and I'm an aerospace engineer. I've been working in aviation maintenance related activities but I'd like to embrace a more technical challenge (for instance, as an opensource developer) to have some fun and to learn/remind somethings. I came across JSBSIM and found it interesting, therefore I'd like to learn a little bit more about it. I am familiar with matlab and with C language (unfortunately not with C++) so I think that maybe it would be easier for me, and more "time-effective", to try to figure out how the Matlab version of JSBSIM works. I don't no if you have a better suggestion for my early steps, but I think that it would be interested for me to "play" a little bit with the existing Matlab code and after that try to start to develop something. Any instructions "for dummys" alike, so that I may start to climb the ladder? Best regards, Ivo |
