to jsbsim-users I have downloaded and compiled the full FlightGear program but want to run the JSBSim subset. The main prograhang on some ownership problem with qT. I am trying to start JSBSim, but I do not seem to have the correct sort of startup script. The Aircraft folder is several steps away from the main program and I tried this: >From the Aircraft/dp2/ folder I tried: sudo ../../bin/JSBSim --script=reset00.xml (which specifies where the aircraft is Lat Lon Alt, etc). I get the following: JSBSim startup beginning ... File: Path "reset000.xml" is not a script file What has to be in a simple script startup file? The one in the manual is very complex. I tried yesterday with a photo of the screen, but it was too big. And I found a stupid misteak in it anyway. Thank you, Rex du Pont rex...@gm... |

Bertrand, It turns out I that what I was trying to load was not a script file, but a set of starting conditions. My real problem is getting the file structure right. The current message turned out to be an initfile, but the program cannot find it.. I would like to start from a clean linux install with a simple file structure that would have the program in one folder and all the data in a second folder (like fgdata/Aircraft, etc.) But your site does not seem to have a linux-ready download that I can start from. I am currently trying to run the JSBSim from a full Flightgear install form a script and the file system is defeating me. We have operated for years with a dual computer system with a scenery computer that is taking a vector of flight data from an "engineering" computer that operates from a realtime linux system, because we may want to run real servos as part of a development process. All this is in a full scale cockpit with control console and stick as control inputs. the problem is that an old "scenery" computer died and we want to put up the more modern scenery anyway. Neither computer is online to preserve our engineering details. The project is the dp2 project hat you describe in our Manual. Is there a source from which I could get an installable linux version of standalone JSBSim? We would like to keep it as simple as we can. Bertrand, Now I have a new problem: I set up a file "aircraft" (instead of Aircraft as in fgfs) and got to a new level of complicaiton: The error message is now: YOU HAVE AN INCOMPATIBLE CFG FILE FOR THIS AIRCRAFT. ... Current version is: 2.0 you have version: I will go back and see what is needed from a current aircraft file (presumably at least a version number). By the way, from your name, are you in France? thank you et merci! Bertrand, I tried to download the windows verison of JSBSim, but none of the aircraft files came thorugh. I would assume that they are the same as those that come from the Flightgear site? I thought I would see if I could run a standalone JSBSim on my windows laptop as a trial, but that is not working either. Where are you in France. My descendants are largely there, but currently scattered around the world. One grandson 9and family) live in Angers. One granddaughter in Paris, one coming back from Africa -- maybe to Pau. Is there a linux version of the code that I could get from your site, or should I stick with the full fgfs stuff? I will need to modify, at least, the Network part to accept our external input. I will set up a file system as you suggest and try one of the other aircraft. Thank you for being so helpful. I had not worked on this for close to ten years and am trying to get back into the new verison (which is much better). Bertrand, Sorry to bother you again, but could you send me a sample aircraft file that would work with the Standalone JSBSim? I copied one from the fgfs files and I get the same message about incompatible file type, so I need a sample that will run on my windows laptop, just to find out what I need to do. Probably the simplest possible one, although I would like one for a Bombardier 700 or so eventually. thank you, Rex On Sun, Mar 18, 2018 at 10:16 AM, Rex du Pont <rex...@gm...> wrote: > Bertrand, > > I tried to download the windows verison of JSBSim, but none of the > aircraft files came thorugh. > > I would assume that they are the same as those that come from the > Flightgear site? > > I thought I would see if I could run a standalone JSBSim on my windows > laptop as a trial, but that is not working either. > > Where are you in France. You can download a copy of all files from FlightGear's Jenkins http://build.flightgear.org:8080/job/JSBSim-win/ws/*zip*/JSBSim-win.zip There you will get the JSBSim executable in the archive under JSBSim-win/build/src/Debug. All the files (aircraft, engines, etc.) are located in the archive under JSBSim-win/source Bertrand. 2018-03-18 15:36 GMT+01:00 Rex du Pont <rex...@gm...>: > Bertrand, > > Sorry to bother you again, but could you send me a sample aircraft file > that would work with the Standalone JSBSim? Alan, I did not do it that way. I got the .exe.file from the JSB website, but the aircraft folders were all empty. I am trying to get something that works, but need to have a compileable linux version that I need to modify to take a data file that would be transmitted by a separate computer that is running the flight model in real time (which has to be linux). We use a second computer to do the scenery, and it died. We are trying to reconstitute it with up to date scenery. What I would like it a linux version that I could compile on a different computer. I compiled a flightgear program from the download_and_Compile script, but cannot get it to work due to some obscure ownership issue for Qt. Then I realized that there was a JBSim compiled program in what was compiled. It has a problem that that: You must specify an initialization file with the aircraft name. My question is where do I find, or make up, that file. Format and content. Also I would like to be able to download a currently working aircraft file, since it also says the the ones I have are in an obsolete format. The JSBSim manual online does not cover these issues. Is there a more recent version? Thank you, Rex du Pont On Sun, Mar 18, 2018 at 11:02 AM, Alan Teeder <ajt...@v-...> wrote: > If have just compiled and built under windows the JSBSim standalone from > url = git://git.code.sf.net/p/jsbsim/code > > It includes all of the aircraft demo scripts. > > Alan > > > ------------------------------------------------------------ > ------------------ > Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most > engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot > _______________________________________________ > Jsbsim-users mailing list > Jsb...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jsbsim-users > > |
