Project not dead

I know, I know... development has kind of... stalled. If you download this and find it useful, drop me a line. If you don't find it useful, let me know why. I'm considering changing the license to LGPL, more details on that later.

Version 2.0.0

Version 2.0.0 source is released as beta!

Here's what works:
Camera is fully adjustable for focal length, position, and view direction.
CSG Primitives started, Union only for now.
Sphere primitive.
Realistic matte lighting (no specular) with distance variation.
Multiple light sources part of CSG tree.
Point source light primitive works, parallel ray source planned.

What's up next:
Specular reflections
Parallel ray light source
Transparency / Refraction

HTML Help: Need someone to write a website. That stuff doesn't interest me much, so I don't do it. Nothing complicated is required.

Alpha Status

Project has been updated to alpha status. Source is available via anonymous ftp. It works, but many things haven't been tested. The default scene (2 spheres and 2 lighting sources at 640x480) renders in 3-5 minutes on my 300MHz K6-2. It takes much longer is logging level is set lower (15+ minutes). Warning: If you change the logging level, the log file will grow substantially (almost 100MB if set to Verbose logging). Have fun.... read more
